A shocking incident of inhuman treatment has surfaced in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man was subjected to a brutal Taliban-style punishment on charges of theft. The incident, captured in a viral video on social media, shows the victim being hung upside down from a tree in Mahogarhi village, Drummondganj. The assailants, alleging theft, not only beat the young man mercilessly but also subjected him to inhaling chilli smoke.
The victim's mother filed a complaint, stating that her son was accused of stealing a mobile phone on December 3. Subsequently, a group of individuals tied him to a tree branch, hung him upside down, and subjected him to a vicious beating.
A woman in the group even made him smell chilli smoke. Although the authenticity of the viral video is yet to be confirmed, the incident prompted the victim's mother to alert the police. Upon reaching the scene, the police rescued the young man by opening the rope. A case has been registered against four individuals, three of whom have been arrested, while efforts are underway to apprehend the fourth.
